We recommend a path that will lead you through the green expanses dotting the Cavallino-Treporti coastline to discover the network of fortifications built during the two World Wars.

You will enter a special atmosphere to perceive the special attention of the local people to nature and its potential through a path that will keep you busy for a few kilometres (about 30), immersed in nature, starting from Santa Maria Elisabetta in Cavallino and up to Punta Sabbioni.

One of the most spectacular places of the lagoon of Venice is the part extending to the north, where you can have the impression of being real explorers between expanses of water and dispersed streets admiring the expanses of water with the mirror-like multiple reflections of light.

The Palladian villas around Vicenza in the hinterland are a must see, represented by a collection of Venetian villas in the territory of the Republic of Venice), mostly concentrated in the province of Vicenza, built around the mid Sixteenth century by the architect Andrea Palladio for the most prominent families of the place, celebrities of the Venetian Republic.

Venice is just 30 minutes from the campsite and offers a standard itinerary. By boat you arrive directly in Piazza San Marco or you can reach the famous Venetian islands such as Burano whose gaudy-coloured houses guard the traditional lace artists. Murano, synonym of precious stained mouth blown glass windows. And Torcello village where you can see the Ponte del Diavolo and rediscover the landscapes described by Hemingway in his novel “Beyond the river and among the trees”. These areas are also popular due to the wine and food; the fish offer is certainly significant but the production of perfect wine to be served with tasty meat dishes is also relevant.

Among the best known courses are the Venetian liver with onions or octopus, spider crab, and tasty crab meat. For more traditional dishes, try pesse in saor (Venetian marinated fish), fried or marinated fish or bigoli with duck sauce. Cavallino, the Island of Torcello and the whole area have a wide choice of restaurants, farms and typical taverns “baccari” to enjoy these specialities. Another valid alternative, to be immersed in the history of the city, is a visit to the famous Rialto market. Venetian cuisine is a meeting of flavours tied to the lagoon area and the historical roots when Venice was a commercial port with intense trade exchange in the East. The products of the territory, such as fish, vegetables and spices, are the main Venetian ingredients, a true delight for the palate.

Casanova, a man of infinite love affairs, also showed a strong love for the city of Venice and its places full of charm. His adventures can still be relived today by visiting some sites scattered among the streets of the city.
